about me.
This is the website for Emily Jackson, a Canadian journalist, reporter, lover of technology, and (very) amateur photographer. I’m currently reporting for the Toronto Star.
After completing my Bachelor of Commerce at Queen’s University with a certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility, I spent a good part of a year traveling and falling in love with Rio. Eventually, I bought a one way ticket to the west coast so I could get my Master of Journalism at the UBC Graduate School of Journalism.
Since entering the field, I’ve worked at The Globe and Mail (predominately for the Report on Business, with a few pieces appearing in the National, B.C., and Toronto sections), The Vancouver Sun, and CKNW radio. I’ve also written for BC Business. In December 2010, I traveled to Uganda to film a documentary as part of UBC’s International Reporting Program. Our documentary, Freedom From Pain, aired on Al Jazeera in July 2011.
